Our 2020 Holiday Card features Beautiful People, a stunning art rug handwoven in Nepal by Wool & Silk. Award-Winning rug designer Erbil Tezcan translated the design from the original painting, The Beautiful People, by Austin-based artist Bryan Dubreuiel. The artist's message resonates powerfully: "I wanted to represent the way I saw all of the people of the world, no matter your heritage, your race, your wealth, your upbringing - we are all one and we are all beautiful people, no matter the scars, the history, the trials and tribulations. We are all special. All of my work has had meaning for me, but this one is special. I wanted to provide spirit, or lift someone." We hope this work will lift you, as well.
The rug is available for purchase at Postmodern Traditions. For art inquiries, visit Bryan Dubreuiel Fine Art.
TAKE A VIDEO TOUR OF OUR SHOWROOM
Brick & mortar businesses like ours know the importance of community. Chief among the many lessons 2020 imparted is that we need each other, even when we are apart. Thanks to the support of friends, clients, and colleagues from around the world, Pride of Persia Rug Co. & Postmodern Traditions remain open (with proper social distancing and masking protocols, of course) to serve our customers. We have virtual and in-person options for showing rugs plus curbside service for our wash and repair clients. Check out our TruVisit video to learn more about what makes our business work!
We were delighted to win two 2019 ASID Industry Partner Ruby Awards for Best Use of Flooring and Best Use of Textiles.

Texas-based artists Stella and Philippe Coupé work together as a couple to create unique and colorful abstract art. Their complex images capture liquid sculptures in motion, frozen in time by a photograph. Each stunning image is immortalized as a giclée print on aluminum, revealing vibrant colors that enhance every home decor. The artists are new ASID Industry Partner members. Join us in welcoming them to our design communitiy. A light luncheon will be served. Click on photo to register.

That is indeed our Tufenkian Stonehenge Honeyberry rug on the August 2013 front cover of Texas Home & Living. Congratulations to Debra Sabrsula, whose gorgeous dining room at the ASID Show House makes this contemporary rug look even more stunning. Rooms by Jason Broughton and Blake Woods also showcased rugs from Postmodern Traditions.
The spectacular front cover of the 2013 Issue I features our award-winning Reflections Sky rug by Wool and Silk Rug Co. Thanks to Jane Page Design Group for including rugs from Postmodern Traditions and Pride of Persia Rug Co. in the cover-story project.
What do we mean by award-winning? Based on a painting by Ford Smith, Reflections Sky took top honors as the “Best Modern Deluxe” rug at the Domotex Flooring Show 2012. Congratulations to Erbil Tezcan for his fabulous design!
We were thrilled to participate in the Villa de Luxe project benefitting Preservation Houston, which was the national cover story for the Spring 2013 issue of Luxe. Jane Page Design Group and Lynne T. Jones Interior Design selected rugs from Postmodern Traditions, while Diana S. Walker and Laura Umansky featured rugs from Pride of Persia Rug Co. Working with these talented designers was an honor!
